• Hell Revealed is a 32-level megawad for Doom II released on May 2, 1997. It was created by Yonatan Donner, one of the players behind the Doom Done Quick project, and Haggay Niv. Hell Revealed was designed with the intent of providing a challenge for expert players, and has become infamous for its difficulty: the hardest levels in the set feature battlegrounds where the player is pitted against dozens of the hardest monsters at once, some levels containing around 500 monsters in total. Second to the original games Doom and Doom II, Hell Revealed has been subject to the most Doom speedrunning competition of any Doom WAD. A 32-level sequel megawad built around the same concept and featuring even more monsters, Hell Revealed II, was created by a different team and released on December 31, 2003. • Sigil is 9-level megawad for original Doom announced on December 10, 2018 and created by John Romero.

The WAD was mentioned in Doomworld's The Top 10 Infamous WADs list. • UAC Military Nightmare – A WAD made by 'Terry' which was notorious for its use of vulgar scripts, strange graphics, unfair difficulty, and otherwise-useless data that existed to either bloat the WAD's file size or tamper with the player's settings. The WAD itself was removed from Doomworld in 2014 due to the aforementioned useless data, but has since been reuploaded with said data removed. Editing [ ] Many are available for Doom.

Some people may like it, but it's not my cup of tea. One of the enemies I like, but which is often criticised as 'cheap' is the Hell Knight. He's big-ish, he looks like a pale baron, his attack is as nasty as the baron's (well, it is the baron's) but he has lower HPs. I've seen a lot of people ask what was the point of making a weak baron, why not put a tougher one in?

As with the original, multiplayer games used to be played using the dial-up or LAN by the internal setup program (setup.exe), through the online service or with once-popular programs like and Kahn (using SPX) in Windows 95. Nowadays, in the modern standards, Doom II can be played with almost any version of Windows across the internet using third party source ports such as,,, and are still popular today. The port of Doom II supports online multiplayer via.

That works for me. And I HATE loads of Revenents! Dragon ball super broly online. But a fair challenge is fun from time to time. Monster placement is largly underused, it would be nice to have an hard level at like 15 or something (like really hard)and then the next level is like piss easy, and then you lay off for a while.

E1M7 may not have a crowning battle, but Romero's pacing - at least, of the action - is great. The only caveat is that, well, with all the backtracking, you're liable to forget what you had to do or get lost, but if that's the case, then Doom might not be the game for you. Phobos Anomaly E1M8 by Sandy Petersen and Tom Hall Starts out with something more akin to puzzle play with that big pack of demons ringed by barrels. After some exploration, it's on to the finish, a fantastic reveal of the last bastion of Hell on Phobos with its gateway guardians - the Barons of Hell - and packs of groaning phantoms.

-- Stay away, or you shall die painfully. Spiderdemon -- 2-3 BFG blasts, or about 1200 pistol shots. -- About 10 seconds of sustained fire from him and you're toast. Doom 2 fills in the gap with an actually somewhat dangerous zombie, the scary as hell Pain Elemental (especially in numbers), the revenant and arachnotron, which serve to be more threatening than the Baron although easier to kill, a smaller version of the Baron, the all-powerful Arch-Vile (nicely bridges the Baron-Cybie gap), and of course the boss brain who may or may not be an actual enemy depending on who you talk to. Let us not forget that Doom 2 introduces two (three?) enemies that completely break away from the primitive Doom 1 AI of 'walk, shoot, die' (that is, the Revenant with the tracking missle, the Arch-Vile with enemy resurrection and a timed LOS attack, and the Boss Brain) and an enemy which spawns other enemies as its attack. Doom 2 was also more scary on the whole than Doom 1. Who can forget their first encounter with an Arch-Vile, watching the enemies you just mowed through being brought back to life before your very eyes, then being toasted by teh ev1l fir3 of d00m?!
